Global Cities is seeking graduate student interns to assist with program management integral to the organization’s education program, including the maintenance and development of educational material and program platform.

Global Cities, Inc. is a non-profit organization under the auspices of Bloomberg Philanthropies. The organization’s vision is to connect global cities through a practical international information-sharing network that provides meaningful forums for exchanging up-to-date best practices that address current issues impacting cities; and to develop global awareness among the next generation through cross-national interactive educational projects designed to enhance their ability to act as global citizens.

Description of Internship
Interns will assist Global Cities staff with the delivery and management of Global Scholars, an international digital exchange program for students ages 10-13, by maintaining the online learning management system, including monitoring and tracking student work. In addition, interns provide overall content and administrative support through maintaining databases and assisting the Education Program Managers with professional development for educators across the globe. Interns may be required to work on additional research projects that contribute to the development of key components of the organization’s core programming.

These are paid, part-time internships (15-20 hours/week). Internships are set to begin as soon as possible and may continue through the end of spring 2018, based on performance and organization capacity. Only applicants with expected availability throughout this entire period should apply. Interns are expected to work on-site with Global Cities at its midtown headquarters. A regular schedule of interns’ hours will be established.

1.Pursuing a graduate degree in international education or a related field
2.Excellent research, writing, and organizational skills
3.Facility with web-based environments and/or learning management systems
4.Ability to work as a part of a team within a start-up environment
5.Reliability and commitment to delivering timely work products
6.Interest in international education and/or global awareness education
