Fire Sprinkler Design Engineer, responsible for the design of fire sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial, and residential occupancies. Job responsibilities will include preparation of working drawings with use of CAD software package, sizing system piping using hydraulics software, coordination of equipment location with respect to other building mechanical, electrical, architectural, or structural, features. System designs will comply with state and local building codes as well as insurance regulations. Goals to include project management responsibilities involving; attending jobsite meetings, scheduling and oversight of manpower productivity, billings, contract negotiation, progress reporting. Candidate will work in a team environment. Some travel is required on a regional basis. Candidate will also assist with company IT department services.
The candidate should have a strong interest in the construction industry. Good mathematical skills are required in basic math, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. Good verbal and written communication skills are required. The candidate should be outgoing and willing to work in a team based environment. The individual should have a willingness to express openly his thoughts and ideas on a variety of issues involved with circumstances surrounding team projects and company operations. Dependable transportation is required. Strong computer skills in CAD software and various business software programs is necessary.
