Welcome to the online Career Services portal at Houston Baptist University!  Hire-A-Husky is the main database for posting internships and jobs as well as keeping up with upcoming recruiting events happening on campus! The Office of Career and Calling is here to assist you with posting internships and jobs for our students and alumni as well as providing you with various opportunities for you to connect with them on campus via our Career Fairs, Campus Recruitment System, and Career Development Seminars.

POSTING INTERNSHIPS & JOBS

To post a job for students/alumni, log in below or click the button to register and create a new profile. All new employer profiles and postings are reviewed and approved by Office of Career and Calling staff prior to our students and alumni having access to apply to the posting.

SCHEDULING CAMPUS INTERVIEWS

The Office of Career and Calling strongly encourages employers to conduct their first round of interviews for internships and jobs on the HBU campus. This provides convenience for the employer and student especially if an employer conducts interviews after attending an HBU Career Fair. Our staff can reserve rooms on behalf of the employer, provide student and alumni resumes for employers, and promote the employer’s position(s) directly to the specific target audience the employer is looking to engage. Students are required to come to the interview dressed professionally and with copies of their resumes. To set up an Interview Schedule, employers can log into their accounts and go to My Campus Interviews and select New Schedule Request. Campus Recruitment Season at HBU is September-November & February-April. Please contact Office of Career and Calling staff with any questions or suggestions.

RESUME BOOKS

If an employer has an urgent hiring need or planning to conduct Campus Interviews, The Office of Career and Calling has constructed more than a dozen Resume Books in Hire-A-Husky for employers to browse current student and alumni resumes to contact them directly about a posting. The Resume Books are categorized by major, classification, and/or degree. Employers can log into their accounts and click Student/Alumni Resume Books.

HBU CAREER FAIRS

The Office of Career and Calling is currently in the process of expanding its Career Fair and events offerings for the benefit of employers looking for Top Talent and Students looking for additional events to network with Houston Employers. If an employer wants to introduce its brand to the student body, they are highly encouraged to attend a Career Fair and conduct on Campus Interviews. The Office of Career and Calling can provide interested employers details regarding our Sponsorship program. The following employers sponsored Career Fairs last year: River Oaks Baptist School, Modern Woodmen of America, The Reynolds & Reynolds Company, Merchant Pro Express, The Source for Women, and GBH Partners.

CAREER DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS/SEMINARS

The Office of Career and Calling recognizes the importance of career and professional development for our students and alumni. In order for students to be introduced to the World of Work, employers are encouraged to volunteer and participate as Subject Matter Experts, Advisors, Coaches, Mentors, etc… during Career Development Week. Employers are able to find additional details for each event and register in their Hire-A-Husky accounts. If new to Hire-A-Husky, your account will need to be approved. After your account is approved, go to your events tab to view the fall & spring semester lineup of Career Development Seminars.
