Employ the Pack: A Conference for Emerging Professionals

The Loyola University New Orleans Career Development Center is hosting its second annual employment boot camp, EMPLOY the PACK. James Marshall Reilly—an entrepreneur, best-selling author, journalist and founder of New York City media firm, The GUILD Agency—is the newly announced keynote speaker for the Saturday, Jan. 25 conference.

The half-day, professional-caliber employment strategies seminar is available to students and young alumni for free. Featuring one-on-one consultations and on-site employment experts, the conference is set for the St. Charles Room in the Danna Student Center on Loyola’s main campus. EMPLOY the PACK: A Conference for Emerging Professionals will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Think you know it all about the internet job search? Are you maximizing your use of LinkedIn?  Experts teach you how to go beyond the obvious sources to help participants find jobs, connect with alumni, and develop robust networks, for business development and more.

Backpack to Briefcase:  What to expect after graduation?
Who the heck is FICA?  Work life balance, does it really exist?  Backpack to briefcase will provide conference attendees the tools they need to navigate the professional world.  Topics will include:  developing a professional image, following workplace etiquette, staying competitive, making sense of one’s paycheck, understanding employee benefits and rights and much more.
