|The Daiwa Scholarships are aimed at future leaders in their fields who will derive personal and professional benefit from an in-depth experience of Japan. The programme comprises Japanese language study in the UK prior to departure for Tokyo, a 12-month period of Japanese language study at Waseda University in Tokyo, a 1-month homestay and a 6-month full-time work placement. The 176 alumni are now forging careers in architecture, the arts, science, media, law, academia and medicine, making up a distinctive network of individuals with a shared experience of Japan. The Foundation covers a return airfare to Tokyo, pays all tuition fees while the Scholar is in Japan and provides a monthly stipend. |
Only UK nationals are eligible to apply.
This presentation aims to provide aspiring Daiwa Scholarship applicants with an overview of the Scholarship and an understanding of the application process. Although primarily aimed at final year students, first and second year students as well as postgraduate students are also welcome to attend this presentation to find out more about the programme. http://dajf.org.uk/scholarships/daiwa-scholarship
Manchester graduates who have recently completed the programme include Dr Ola Jegede (2015 Scholar) and Francesca Le Lohe (2013 Scholar).
