10/23/2019 12:00 PM - 10/23/2019 1:00 PM
Room 1.007, Roscoe Building

The Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme is an official Japanese government initiative, which aims to improve foreign language education in Japanese schools and promote international exchange at a grass-roots level.  Since 1987, the programme has placed over 10,000 UK graduates in positions throughout Japan.

There are two types of position available for UK graduates on the JET Programme: Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) and Coordinator for International Relations (CIR). Full details can be found on our website: https://www.jet-uk.org/index.php.

This presentation aims to provide aspiring JET applicants with an overview of our available opportunities and a thorough understanding of the application process.  Our representative will also cover the history and aims of the JET Programme, pay and conditions, eligibility criteria and future career prospects.

Although this presentation is primarily aimed at final year students, first and second year students are also welcome to attend to find out more about the programme.

Please note that we are only able to accept applications from those with British Citizen status. Aspiring applicants from outside the UK are advised to contact the Embassy of Japan in their country of citizenship.
