JOCKEY is seeking a Product Costing Engineer to provide prototype cost analysis, while engineering product for manufacturability and the efficient use of resources. You will collaborate across multiple departments in order to establish new product labor and material requirements, managing costs from inception to black seal approval.

In this role, you will:
• Develop and communicate costs scenarios from inception to red seal to be -0/+3% of margin requirement for respective business unit and margin goals.
• Development of total prototype product costs thru net margin based on business unit financial model and margin expectation.
• Communication and distribution of cost information to internal departments within metric parameters and accurately.
• Provide and distribute cost tech packs in conjunction with new prototyped white seal garments to Sourcing team to assist with their negotiation process.
• Collaboration with Design Services, Merchandising, Packaging, and Sourcing teams.
• Responsible for establishing initial labor methods, labor rates and material yields.
• Provide labor costs analysis using General Sewing Data (GSD) system.
• Maintain accurate database of costing for all contracted goods.
• Determine most economical utilization of materials by generating computerized marker layouts of fabrics.
• Collaborate with patternmakers to develop manufacturing methodologies and sequence of operations.
• Recommend changes in materials and construction that will provide better costing outcome while maintaining quality requirement and requested aesthetic by Design.
• Continually evaluate current product for better, more cost effective methods.
• Utilize PLM system for information and data and maintain accuracy within system.
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Apparel Engineering or equivalent preferred.
• Predetermined Time System Certification (GSD, MTM, etc.) preferred.
• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in apparel costing or apparel industry.
• Strong knowledge of apparel construction and pattern development.
• Excellent computer skills; excel, word, pattern system.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing and operations capabilities.
• Excellent communication, decision making, problem solving and interpersonal skills required.
• Potential travel up to 10% of time.
