The Peer Career Advisors (PCAs) play an important role in the delivery of career services in the Career Development Center. They are trained to assist students on a walk-in basis with resume and cover letter development, job search skills, mock interviewing program and use of career center technology. PCAs work as a team to manage the Document Drop program for resumes, cover letters and personal statements that are sent by e-mail.

PCAs also deliver presentations to student organizations and in classrooms on basic career topics and CDC services. They assist with the administration and coordination of career fairs, host promotional tables on campus, and engage in other activities designed to promote CDC services. Typical work week is 15 hours.

Important administrative tasks include documenting observations in Lightning Career Link, reporting hours worked and presentation outcomes.

Training will be provided.
- Must maintain full-time enrollment at MTSU as an undergraduate or 3 hours in a graduate program.
- Have and maintain a 3.00 cumulative GPA.
- At least a sophomore (current freshmen may apply if they will be sophomore standing next year), with at least one semester completed at MTSU and in good standing with the University.
- Any profiles on social media sites (Face Book, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) must be professional in nature and content.
- Commit to working two semesters, fall & spring, consecutively, possibility of summers if interested and budget allows.
- Ability to work 15 hours a week during the academic term.
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills, and active listening skills.
- Display a desire to help others and be customer service oriented.
- Motivated to work individually and as part of a team.
- Comfortable conducting individual and group presentations.
- Technology Used: Lightning Career Link, Big Interview, MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word), and CareerShift.
