The Watershed Planning Unit in the Division of Water Resources works to protect and improve water quality in Tennessee by partnering with the eight Environmental Field Offices to implement division-wide activities that establish water quality standards, characterize the waters of the state, provide technical assistance, and coordinate actions that protect or improve these waters.

Responsibilities
• Perform Quality Assurance/Quality Control tests of data.
• Conduct trend analyses of data.
• Compare data to stream hydrology and temperature.
• Compare stream temperature to biological indicators (stream benthic macroinvertebrates).
• Develop a guidance document for Environmental Field Office usage.
• Analyze continuous monitoring data for anomalies.
• Use an online library to archive data.
• Scan documents and file in an online library.

Knowledge and Skills
The successful candidate must have excellent organizational skills and be detailed oriented, as well as the ability to deliver quality customer service to internal and external customers.

Qualifications
The student must be currently enrolled in a college or university focusing on a degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Geology, or acceptable related field.

Candidates must receive college credit for their internship and be an undergraduate at an accredited college or university.
