Position Information

Hourly Wage
The work performed will be about 60% office work and 40% field work familiarizing the intern with city water, waste water, storm water, and street work in addition to assisting in engineering tasks.
Job Duties:
*Sort, file, and organize plats, plans, and engineering documents
*Assist in plan review
*Perform GIS field work such as logging ADA defects, storm structures, etc.
*Depending on the applicant, minor design work and field surveying may be performed under supervision
*Various labor tasks with public works department that may include digging, minor traffic control, pipe fitting, concrete work, and grading
*Performing turning movement and traffic counts using both visual and technological means
*Attending planning commission meetings and workshops
*Providing clerical staff support to the engineering department
*Analyzing various types of data including flow monitoring, water loss reports, traffic impacts, etc.
