Position Information

$11.25 - $15.92 hourly
The successful candidate works independently to oversee the operation and maintenance of the general science teaching laboratories; implements and enforces lab safety practices and regulations; works with a diverse population of administrators, faculty, staff and students. This person performs a variety of duties to insure safe and dynamic function of a multidisciplinary teaching laboratory (chemistry, biology, physics, geology, and other labs) including but not limited to: preparing reagents, solutions, supplies and equipment, assisting in or cleaning lab glassware and equipment, coordinating use of lab supplies and equipment, organizing and maintaining records, ordering and maintaining supplies, receiving supplies, verifying contents, insuring proper storage, meeting safety procedures, maintaining inventory and arranging maintenance of equipment.
Minimum Qualifications

Successful completion of at least 60 college-level credit hours; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology or related field such as Physical or Natural Science.

1- Maintaining records.
2- In an educational general science laboratory including principles of hazardous waste disposal.
3-Relevant work experience (at least 1 year) including experience with basic lab safety procedures, equipment, techniques and operations.
