Undergraduate Admissions is seeking highly motivated students looking for an opportunity to work in a fast paced, professional office setting.

• Successful candidates will be expected to learn a variety of work assignments that will develop skill sets utilized in future career paths
• Successful candidates will be working in a busy, fast paced office setting and will be expected to understand and embrace the crucial role that Undergraduate Admissions plays in the overall success of New Mexico State University and the communities it serves
• Successful candidates will be representatives of New Mexico State University and have the opportunity to exemplify NMSU students.

Responsibilities will include:

• Assisting Campus Visit staff by conducting campus tours for prospective students and families
• Assisting recruitment staff by participating in campus events for prospective students and their families
• Assisting Campus Visit staff by assembling "SWAG BAGS" for our Campus Visit guests.
• Assisting recruitment staff by entering prospective student information from contact cards into our Student Information System
• Assisting recruitment staff by helping to gather and load recruiting materials for staff traveling to recruitment events
• Tele-counseling with potential students and assisting with questions about our campus, admission process, and colleges.
• Assisting front desk staff with the intake and processing of incoming student documents, answering telephone calls and assisting walk in guests or prospective students
• Assisting the processing staff with filing, mailing and other related tasks.
• Other duties as assigned

Events and tele-counseling campaigns may involve working some evenings and weekends depending upon time of year and outreach efforts. There is a potential for limited travel with admissions advisors during recruitment season. Student Employees may also be required to attend weekly meetings. These responsibilities are subject to change and may be adjusted as the need arises.

• Undergraduate student, registered on main campus at least one year, completed approximately 24 credit hours

• Minimum GPA of 3.0 and currently enrolled full time on main campus

• Demonstrative knowledge and enthusiasm about NMSU, the surrounding community, and a willingness to learn more about the campus and other aspects of the local area

• Demonstrate ability to present in front of large groups, or a willingness to learn and develop the ability to present in front of large groups

• Ability to work in a fast paced, professional work environment

• Ability to meet deadlines

• Dependable, outgoing, positive, energetic, and flexible

• Mature attitude and excellent interpersonal skills

• Interview required

Weekly hours: 15-20
