WestStar’s Wealth Management division, headquartered in El Paso, TX, is a fast-growing, fee-only fiduciary and asset management firm currently seeking an Investment Analyst to be an integral part of our team. In collaboration with our seasoned professionals, this role entails investment analysis, portfolio management, presentation and trading activities for a diverse array of clients including high net worth individuals, institutions, and non-profit organizations.

As an Investment Asociate you will have the opportunity to learn from, be mentored by, and support a CFA Charterholder and a team of highly experienced trust and investment professionals. You will liaison with research firms, analysts, and consultants with a global reach spanning all asset categories. The successful candidate will grow into a client-facing role and assume hands-on portfolio management responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Analyze existing holdings of clients including individual stocks, bond, mutual funds, and investment managers
• Assess client profile relating to risk tolerance, investment objectives, etc.
• Prepare customized presentations and reports on the capital markets, economic outlook, WestStar’s investment process and strategy, and the performance of client portfolios
• Remain informed and knowledgeable of the capital markets, global economy, investment strategies and securities employed in client portfolios so as to effectively convey the rationale behind their utilization and performance attribution related thereto
• Ensure timely processing and completion of operational needs, trading, portfolio rebalancing, asset transfers and communications with clients, prospects and team members
• Coordinate onboarding of new relationships and accounts
• Participate in business development efforts with existing and prospective clients

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Intellectual interest relating to global capital markets, economics and ways to capitalize upon opportunities and protect against risks
• Qualitative and quantitative analysis
• Proactive leadership in process and strategy enhancement
• Effective time management in establishing priorities, meeting deadlines and multi-tasking in a fast–paced environment
• Ability to work effectively in both team and independent settings
• Excellent oral and written skills with proven communication and presentation abilities
• High proficiency in technology applications, including the Microsoft Office suite – Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook
• Interest and/or experience in a client-facing role

REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, preferably in finance or economics; MBA or work toward MBA preferred
• Completion, progress toward, or desire to pursue CFA Charter strongly preferred
• 1-5 years of experience in a related field
• Understanding of economic and financial markets
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work
• Strong presentation/public speaking skills and experience
• Proactive client-facing interaction
• No SEC licensing required
