Position Information

Under the direction of the Teen Coordinator, the teen youth development specialist is responsible for providing daily programs, services and activities for Club member, which are consistent with BGCLC’s mission and goals. The Teen YDS provides guidance and role modeling to teenaged Club members (ages 13 to 18) and tweens (ages 11 and 12), ensuring a safe and positive environment. Teen YDS plans, implements and supervises activities based in a variety of program areas, such as sports, fitness, character development, the arts, social recreation and education.

>>Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of youth development outcomes.
>>Develop positive relationships with youth while enthusiastically implementing educational and
fun program activities.
>>Ensure all youth are safe, and provide positive guidance to manage negative behavior and
eliminate bullying.
>>May be required to transport youth in company vehicles.
>>Maintain and care for equipment and supplies throughout the Club.
>>Ensure that all Club areas are clean and organized.
>>Other responsibilities/duties as assigned.
>>Assist in the provision of day-to-day program activities in accordance with established standards and goals for both on- and off-site teen/tween based initiatives

Hours: Candidate must be available from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 3:30 to 10:30 p.m. on Fridays

Please Note: This is a grant funded position and is contingent upon continuation of funds.
>>A High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor's (in progress) preferred.
>>Previous experience working with teens preferred.
>>Knowledge of youth development and desire/ability to inspire and enable youth to reach their
full potential as caring, productive, responsible citizens.
>>Ability to plan, implement, and enhance quality programs for youth.
>>Ability to organize and supervise youth in a safe -and fun environment.
>>Effectively and appropriately communicate with parents· and other staff members.
>>Experience or aptitude in tutoring/mentoring all youth in a variety of subjects.
>>Valid state driver's license associate's
>>Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
