The Family Housing Resident Assistant will create community by creating an environment in which each resident is treated with respect and dignity, has access to services and resources, has a supportive living and academic community, and has the opportunity to participate in the life of the community. Resident Assistants are expected to build community through resident outreach, enforcing community standards, serving in an on-call rotation schedule, and performing administrative tasks. Resident Assistants must live in the area assigned to them on campus, and must be available to work nights and weekends, as scheduled.
Candidates must be full time students at NMSU in good standing, have a minimum semester and cumulative GPA of 2.5, and must have completed 28 credit hours. Candidates should also have demonstrated experience working with diverse groups of people, experience working in groups or teams, and an ability and willingness to have meaningful conversations with others.
