Position Information

Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm, 20 hrs per week
.50 FTE
Career Services Graduate Assistantship will represent the office of Career Services through class and campus organization presentations, one-on-one advising, workshops, and information tabling throughout campus.

Graduate Assistants will provide career advising related to entering the world of work from student employment, co-op/internships to full-time employment. Will assist in the preparation of Career Fairs and all special events hosted by the office to include the annual Mix and Mingle & Dining Etiquette Dinner.

Graduate Assistant will also assist the Career Advising Coordinator with the training of the Peer Career Advisors in advising and presentation strategies. Assist in the maintenance of records, data input and end of year statistical reporting.
• Comfortable presenting in front of small and large groups
• Must be friendly, patient, and sensitive to the diversity of each student
• Excellent written and oral communication/interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Navigate the internet to locate resources related to career development
• Willingness to work a minimum of two semesters.
• Willingness to work evening hours based on event needs and academic availability.
• All new graduate assistants must attend a mandatory orientation offered by the Graduate School.
