Puget Creek Restoration Society is dedicated to protecting, enhancing, and restoring the Puget Creek Watershed and similar streams, wetlands, and green spaces on Commencement Bay and Puget Sound. Through hands-on restoration and research, educational outreach, and advocacy -- and by increasing environmental awareness -- we seek to preserve this important habitat so it will continue to be an example of what people can do to protect and restore the environment in an urban setting.
Qualifications
We work with college students of all abilities. The students choose which days and times they want to work and what type of experience they are seeking to gain within the realm of work that PCRS needs completed. Examples of some activities a student can participate in include:
Office work (administration; volunteer coordination; research; and composition)
Field work (eradication of invasive plant species; learning native plants; planting techniques; monitoring techniques; GPS/GIS; beach monitoring; and crew leadership)
Outreach (staffing booths at fairs; attending meetings in the community)
General Experience (learning all aspects of running a small local environmental organization)
