Internship Summary:
A marketing/promotions internship provides a multi-faceted learning experience for a Junior or Senior level college or university student interested in integrated marketing and special event management. The internship will be focused on the development and execution of the station’s promotional and client events. The intern will be exposed to, and participate in, the detailed planning, coordination and delivery of services ranging from database management, contest prizes, and live events. At the conclusion of the internship, the student will have gained first hand knowledge of marketing/promotions in the field of radio broadcasting.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
• Prize Management. Proper planning and execution of prizes for contests, on-site at events, website and clients.
• Event Planning. Work with Staff in planning for upcoming events. Responsibilities may include loading and unloading equipment, prizes and decorations; coordinating prize packs, event registrations, calling / communicating with partners and listeners.
• Interacting with listeners at events with database and contests.
• *** Opportunities to work with websites, possible video work etc… based on experience of intern.
WBT 1110AM and WLNK 107.9FM are looking for sharp and dedicated interns for the upcoming spring, summer, fall, and winter semesters.

Exciting internships are available in programming, promotions, and with our local radio shows including: Bob and Sheri, Kelly McKay, Matt & Ramona, Charlotte’s Morning News, Keith Larson, John Hancock and Vince Coakley.

Length of Internship:
The minimum length of the internship will be determined by the academic institution. More hours may be available dependent on the student’s availability and department need. Specific dates and times of work will be determined per the intern supervisor.

Minimum Competencies Required: (knowledge, skills and abilities)
• Strong time-management skills and ability to multi-task
• Great interpersonal communication skills, enthusiastic, team player. Excellent public relation skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Website and Photoshop experience a plus.

Minimum Qualifications: (education, experience)
*Must be 18 years of age
* Junior or Senior at a college, university or technical school earning academic credit for the internship.
* Must be capable of loading/unloading the station’s vehicles in preparation for events.
