The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI)
CHCI
is a national Latino organization that offers a wide range of programs and activities to support the educational and professional aspirations of Hispanic youth from high school through graduate school and into their careers.

The Graduate Fellowship program is geared toward Latinos who have completed college and those who have finished their graduate studies with unique paid fellowship opportunities – nine months in Washington, D.C. during which time they work in congressional offices and federal agencies, focusing on public policy in areas critical to the U.S.' competitive position. The Graduate fellows' intensive work experience is enhanced by weekly leadership training sessions that allow them to meet with national leaders and engage in substantive policy discussions. In addition, Graduate fellows produce a public policy brief. Graduate fellows also must organize a policy summit. Because of the wealth of information, contacts, and political activity in Washington D.C., the Graduate Fellowship Program offers an excellent opportunity for participants to affirm their career goals. All participants also receive personal support and guidance from CHCI staff and Alumni Association.

Our Graduate fellowship* is broken up into 6 different area focuses:

·    Higher Education
Secondary Education
Health
Housing
Law
STEM

Public Policy Fellowship offers talented Latinos, who have earned a bachelor's degree within two years of the program start date a paid, nine-month fellowship. This fellowship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the national level in the public policy area of their choice.  Public Policy Fellows are also placed in congressional offices, federal agencies and national nonprofit organizations while participating in our nationally acclaimed leadership development training program.
