ABOUT THE FAIR
Connect with design employers in the fields of retail merchandising, visual merchandising, planning, buying, store management, apparel design, creative design and technical design.
• Looking for an internship or job? Bring a polished resume, have your personal commercial ready, and dress professionally.
• Just starting to explore careers? Come walk through the fair to observe and listen to students and employers, so you're ready for next year.
Apparel Design Students:
We have asked employers to review portfolios of beginning to intermediate design students. We encourage beginning to intermediate design students to ask employers to review beginning portfolios or work samples. We have informed employers students will be asking for this feedback.
Prepare portfolios ahead of time:
HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE FAIR:
Step 1: Register for the fair: (see registration button above) by Friday 9/22/17 and be entered to win a leather padfolio for your use at the fair and beyond!
Step 2: View the career fair prep page to learn how to prepare for a job fair, how to introduce yourself to employers and gain tips for following up after the fair.
Step 3: Attend the Career Fair Resume Prep Events:
Resume Review Mania: 198 McNeal Hall
Wednesday, September 20, 2017 - 8:30am to 4:00pm
Career counselors and peer advisors will be available to offer you feedback on your current resume draft. No sign-up necessary. Just stop by 198 McNeal Hall between 8:30am-4:00pm with a printed or electronic version of your resume.
Step 4: View Attending Employers:
To see a list of all companies coming, click on "View Attending Employers".
On the search page, just click "Search" (do not enter any criteria).
This Career Fair is FREE for students. Please bring your student ID to check in.
A FREE, staffed, self-check coat room is available for students to leave their backpacks and belongings while attending the career fair.
This Career Fair is planned in collaboration with Career and Internship Services, the Retail Merchandising Program, the Apparel Design Program, the Retail Merchandising Advisory Board, and the Apparel Design Advisory Board.
