CAREER WINGS USER AGREEMENT

The University of North Florida (“UNF”) Career Services and Coggin Career Management Center utilize “Career Wings,” an online career management system, to assist students and alumni (jointly “Users”) in their professional growth by providing them with access to career related opportunities including job and internship postings and professional development and hiring events. 


The use of Career Wing is a privilege and by utilizing the system, Users agree that they understand and will adhere to the terms of this agreement.  Failure to do so may result in the suspension or termination of Career Wings privileges.


Job and Internship Postings: 
In order to provide Users with the greatest number of potential job and internship opportunities, employers are permitted to independently post positions in the Career Wings system.  Career Services and the Career Management Center make an effort to screen and remove fraudulent positions and employers from the Career Wings system.  Regrettably, from time to time fraudulent postings and employers still make it into the Career Wings system. 


Career Services and the Career Management Center take no responsibility for (a) the truthfulness, accuracy, quality, safety, morality, desirability or legality of employer information, position listings, (b) the ability of employers to offer job opportunities, or (c) the hiring, recruiting or other practices of any employer. 


It is the User’s responsibility to use caution and research all companies and positions prior to applying.  Users should immediately report and never apply to a suspicious posting. If the position posting or communication with a potential employer contains any of the following “red flags,” it may be fraudulent: 

  • Offer to pay a large amount of money for very little work
  • Job offer without ever interacting with the applicant 
  • Request for personal information from such as student’s Social Security Number, bank account numbers, credit card information, copies of your passport/license/or other personal documents 
  • Offer of a large payment in exchange for allowing the use of your bank account — often for depositing checks or transferring money 
  • Offer to send a check before any work has been completed or an unexpectedly large check
  • Request for payment by wire service or courier 
  • Communication comes from an e-mail account not identified with an organization (e.g. @gmail.com rather than @companyname.com)

User Responsibilities:
Users of Career Wings agree to:

  • Uphold UNF’s values and tradition of responsible and ethical behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
  • Use the information in Career Wings solely for job and internship search purposes and/or UNF career-related events and services.
  • Provide truthful and accurate information about academic and work experience, including courses taken, grades, positions held, and duties performed.
  • Maintain an updated resume and profile including contact information, graduation date, & GPA.
  • Answer all correspondence from prospective employers.
  • Keep all scheduled interviews, including mock interviews, and appointments with employers.
  • Report employment offers by utilizing the “Report a Hire” button on the Career Wings homepage.
  • Discontinue interviewing upon the acceptance of an offer.
  • Honor all employment agreements with employers/organizations.
  • Use caution, research all companies and potential job opportunities.

Confidentiality:
The Career Wings software is maintained by CSO Research, a third party vendor with servers off site.  All data shall be kept confidential by CSO Research and used solely for the purpose of career management under agreed upon confidentiality terms.  Students can utilize privacy settings within the Career Wings application to restrict the receipt of emails from employers and/or to prevent employers from viewing their resume.

Users should contact Career Services (620-2955) or the Career Management Center (620-2067) with any questions or concerns regarding Career Wings and its usage.
