The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong design sense and experience with product development and graphic design. The Sr. Product Designer works closely with Design Leadership, Marketing, Sales, and Product Teams to develop headwear styles and decoration designs. The Sr. Product designer will Initiate and interpret new product concepts to meet the needs of assigned markets, categories and customers. Day-to-day work flow includes but is not limited to developing design concepts, graphics, style definition, color and managing design projects (product design & graphic design) with minimal supervision to ensure that deadlines are met to reach company goals.


·Propose design ideas based on seasonal assignments or customer needs with regard to fabrication, style, features, fit and decoration.

·Work within target prices and deliver attractive design concepts to meet customer and assigned market needs.

·Full tech pack development including sketches and detailed line art to communicate design concepts and construction details. Provide design/concept boards to communicate design and color direction.

·Follow and identify fashion trends in the sports, urban and streetwear categories for use in developing new headwear styles. May attend select trade shows to gain a good understanding of product and market trends.

·Understand current market trends regarding fabrics, color and fit.

·Work with the product development team to help identify general color direction on a seasonal basis.

·Work closely with the product team during new product development process to communicate and illustrate new design ideas.

·Participate in the prototype and conceptual sample process for assigned category(s) and customer requests. Work closely with Sales and Product team members in reviewing samples and directing revisions as needed throughout the development cycle

·Maintain open lines of communication with Sales and Marketing to understand product/consumer needs.
·Requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent specializing in apparel design, fabric arts, or a related field.

·Minimum 2-5 years of design/development experience in a related industry. Experience with outdoor or athletic industry is required.

·Strong knowledge/experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign—Corel Draw a plus).

·Possess strong and thorough knowledge of apparel design and development (headwear a plus); merchandising procedures, product materials, and production techniques. Knowledge and experience with decoration techniques and applications preferred.

·Passion for sports and/or the outdoors very beneficial.

·Ability to work in a demanding, fast paced environment with a high level of adaptability.

·Must possess ability to solve a variety of problems, make good decisions and work within a team environment. Ability to communicate and interact with a variety of stake holders, and work independently and effectively with little supervision.

·Possess well-developed written and verbal communication skills.

·Can do attitude with willingness to put extra time and effort into a project to meet goals and time lines.
